Ideas

Ideas are starting to come in, which is helpful. And like any good brainstorming session, I'm staying open to pretty much all of them - there are exceptions (I'll get to that).
  • Donate blood: great idea, but I can't execute. (my comment: There is a weight minimum which I don't meet).
  • Take an afternoon off from work to see the Giants play an afternoon game. (my comment: possible).
  • Buy a cup of coffee or a sandwich for a homeless person and listen to their story. (my comment: homeless can mean crazy - I'll opt for handing out sandwiches).
  • Go to the Exploratorium (my comment: I like it!).
  • Take BART to SFO and ride the Airtrain around to watch planes take off and land. (my comment: feeling dizzy).
  • Be a geek for a day - play video games for a few hours. (my comment: sounds like a great sick-day activity!).
  • Go ice skating at Union Square (my comment: love it!).
  • Play tourist in San Francisco (my comment: done it, but will certainly do it again).
  • Dress all in red, face paint and all, and stand perfectly still at Fisherman's Wharf (my comment: who can I find to paint my face like this guy?).
  • Work an evening at Glide Mamorial Church feeding the hungry. (my comment: love it!)
  • Rock climb with a friend (my comment: love it!)
  • Babysit for a friend (my comment: stalling - babysitting - sounds about as much fun as cleaning out my sock drawer - OOOH! I'll add that to the list. But, in the spirit of trying something new, and getting back to my twelve year old roots, I'll give it a go). - dog sit for a friend (my comment: love it!)
  • Sell persimmons at the farmer's market - (my comment: I should probably stand outside the farmer's market and TRY to give them away--strange fruit that they are).
  • Join Second Life - create my virtual alter ego (my comment: sounds like a great sick-day activity!).
I'll continue to track ideas here and welcome more!

Fly to NYC on a whim and meet your "separted at birth frient" at Barney's for hours of lipstick shopping. (I'll pay for lunch.) :-)
