I'm excited now about 2010. I'm also already exhausted just thinking about what I'm about to take on. As a storm front comes in from Alaska and a record cold and a deep freeze are expected, I fear that my biggest battle will not be coming up with ideas, but rather getting my cozy-warm tush off of the cushion. I'll need to pull out my foul weather gear, and all of my local newspapers (the Montclarion, the Oakland Tribune, the East Bay Express, and my trusty Chron) to find activities.
It crossed my mind that like hurricanes, a rating system for my plan with a 1-5 scale makes the most sense.
- Life Changing: 1 (not so much) to 5 (a religious experience)
- Fun: 1 (snore) to 5 (pinch me because I must be dreaming)
- Easy to implement: 1 (a 2-year old could do it) to 5 (rocket science)
- Worthy of repetition: 1 (now why would I want to do that?) to 5 (sign me up...next year!* *when I'm through with this experiment)
- Try This: 1 (stay away) to 5 (you gotta try this man!)
I'm taking notes now for things next holiday season. I heard that the San Jose Holiday parade is one of the top parades in the country! There are crafts fairs, plays and musicals galore. Apparently if you're bored between Thanksgiving and Christmas it's because you've simply been living under a rock and don't know what's going on around you, or you've been in bed, or on the couch with your snuggie and cat for far too long.
