Frijtz

Michael is up visiting from LA. A Disney aficionado, he will visit the new Disney Museum tomorrow, but not before having a nosh with his girls, Diana and Wendy. Diana's good friend owns Frijtz, so where better to meet than in his newer restaurant on Valencia.

Frijtz specializes in, well, the national food of Belgium, or is it the main stay of McDonalds(?)--the fry. These are no ordinary frites though. They are thick and crispy--no soggy fries at this locale. What makes these little spudzy gems so special are the great sauces. We tried two: a truffle ketchup and a safron mayo - both were delish. Michael and I both had savory crepes and Diana a salad. Frijtz food is well priced and tasty too and we could sit for hours (yep, hours) over a bottle of wine (diet coke for me) and yuck it up. It was a great hang with respectable food at a reasonable price.
