If only...

If only i had started this darn thing this month...

Today I popped into the new Cafe Trieste and I swear I was tossed back into another dimension, if not another country. I walked in through the front entrance on Piedmont Avenue (Oakland) and walked in front of the singer (Giovanni “Papa Gianni” Giotta), singing old Italian songs, accompanied by accordion and piano. The place was PACKED at 3 in the afternoon. Every table was full (like Yoshi's on a Saturday night).

People were standing at the bar where they served food, coffee (of course) and alcohol (I felt like a Stella Artois but opted for an Americano instead). If it had been January, I probably would have hung out to really experience the place, but instead I opted to stick with the same - grab my coffee and go. Just another reason why I'm looking forward to doing different in 2010.
