Work... well, it's work. Sometimes you need to get out and get away and clear your head. Today, I grabbed my friend Cheryl and said, "let's go check out a gallery!" Fortunately, we're literally a block and a half away from a building full of fabulous galleries. We went to the Fraenkel Gallery at 49 Geary to see Diane (pronounced De-ann) Arbus photographs.
- Here's what's great about a gallery: you see great art
- you can purchase great art
- it's free to look

One was of two women (taken in the 60s) who had recently exited a Beauty Parlor (they weren't called hair salons in the 60's), and they were still in curlers. There was another of an older woman in a hat with white gloves and giant sunglasses. I, for a brief moment, thought, "cool, I'll buy one" until I inquired about the price. "The girls" was a mere 22 (hundres?...) nope - a mere $22,0oo. "Woman with Gloves" was a little more...$55,000, as De-ann printed it herself. Sigh. So I inquired about the book - $60, but the poster was only $10! I walked out empty handed, but still excited to get a piece of civility and culture during my working day.
