It's my own fault. I learned from my mother to work through lunch. I have no idea how this ever seemed like a good idea...
Today, in spite of the horrific amount of work and "fires" to be put out, I forced myself out of the office at lunch for the second day in a row and did a power walk down to the Ferry Plaza to check out the Farmer's Market. I don't know why I had the impression that this was some kind of special Farmer's Market - maybe the one on Saturday is bigger, but it was minuscule compared to the Saturday Farmer's Market across from the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland. Though small, it was respectable and if I had not brought my lunch, I would have indulged in one of my favorite food-stuffs: Donna's Tomales!

All was not lost though - I picked up garlicky slivered almonds and managed to sample my way so that when I did get back to my desk (for lunch), I wasn't particularly hungry. I also realized that even when you are busy and stressed (perhaps especially when), a quick power walk can be a stress reliever.
TIP: the nut guy makes crazy good Almond Brittle.
- Life Changing: 1 (not likely)
- Fun: 4 (great to get out)
- Easy to implement: 1 (easy)
- Worthy of repetition: 5 (absolutely)
- Try This: 5 (try this)
- Cost: 1 (you could pretty much eat for free if you wanted to be a pig with the samples)
