The New Year: Twenty Ten

I am not a numerical purist. In my world the first decade of the millennium has ended. Now begins the twenty-tens. With this new beginning, I embark on a journey to try something different every day. I don't intend on changing the world, or becoming the next Mother Theresa, but rather I intent to turn my hum-drum, routine-laden world a little bit on its proverbial ass. I will try during the next 365 days to do something other than the following: wake up, shower, eat oatmeal, go to work, work through lunch, go home, to the gym (2 or 3 times per week), eat dinner and watch two hours of t.v. Anything different than that counts. I hope that through this process I'll get a little braver, a little more culture and have my horizons broadened. I expect I'll be pushed out of my comfort zone, and that this will be a good thing. Today, the first day of the New Year, I plan to get my banking / bills in order, see a movie (Nine), and go see Will Bernard and Motherbug (Free tickets care of BISS list - thank you very much!). Following my scale, I expect that today's events will be
  • Life Changing: 1 (not so much)
  • Fun: 3 (fun)
  • Easy to implement: 1 (a 2-year old could do it)
  • Worthy of repetition: 5 (sign me up...next year!* *when I'm through with this experiment)
  • Try This: 4 (try this)
  • (new one) Cost: 2 (relatively inexpensive)
