Not Too Cool for This School

I'll let you in on a secret--the Jazz School isn't just a school. Even though they were recognized by the East Bay Express as a the Best Jazz School, they are so much more. The Jazz School brings in great local and National talent in an intimate setting. You get an opportunity to get up close and personal with the artists.

Tonight was a bit of an adventure as I had never heard of this artist, but my dear friend Rebecca needed an outing and this met the criteria: Jazz, inexpensive, near cheap eats, nearby parking. Tickets for the performance were $10, we had a multitude of dining options and chose Indian ($10), and parking was plentiful ($5 after 6p.m.). We thoroughly enjoyed the music from the "Three-o" of young musicians guys did not disappoint.(former Berkeley High students, now living in NYC). It was great to hear young talent and these guys could play! (Julian Pollack, piano; Noah Garabedian, bass; Evan Hughes, drums.)

A thoroughly fun evening for a great price!
  • Life Changing: 1 (nope)
  • Fun: 5 (very fun)
  • Easy to implement: 1 (easy)
  • Worthy of repetition:5 (absatively)
  • Try This: 4 (why not)
  • Cost: 1 ($25 for the whole enchilada or since we had Indian--the whole Simosa!)
