Mystery Guest

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do tonight. Monday night--normally John and I spend a quiet evening together, but with all the doing something different stuff, the pressure is on to do something.

I was sitting outside enjoying the evening in our (almost) remodeled back yard when the phone rang.
"where are you?"
Me: "home. where are you?"
"on the bay bridge"
Me "come over"
click.
Me "Johhhhhhhhhhhhhn! We have a mystery guest coming over."

I was saved by the bell.
ding-dong.

Me "Vinnnnnnnce!"
Our dear friend Vince was up from L.A.

Note: we've been friends 4-ever - through jobs & broken hearts, P.O. Boxes, houses, and diamonds. We've been through it all and he spontaneously appeared, just like people spontaneously collapsed on his T.V. series Flash Forward.

We headed down the street for dinner at Spettro and then down to Heart and Dagger (Yes - I was appropriately dressed this time) for a drink. I got a cool H&D t-shirt and was (for real) checked out by two dudes; came up with an idea for a new "different" day and enjoyed spending time with my friend and my husband.

I'm becoming a big fan of spontaneous.
