HS Reunion

I went to my high school reunion back in September and since then have been enjoying the reconnection with old pals.

I met my HS BFF for dinner and as with any good, old friend we picked right up where we had left off from the last time with ease. Here's the rub: she's a have and I'm a have not. I commented on her handbag, a beautiful brown patent leather with giant grommets, ans found out it was by jimmy choo (translation: $1,000). She also mentioned her home on Tahoe. I don't begrudge her, she isn't snotty or flashy, she's not classist or racist, she's just fkng rich, and I'm just a touch envious. But my life is good and we had a great time at dinner at E&O Trading Co.

For E&O fans, they are changing their menu. I asked the waiter to share his info sheet with me so I got a preview of the new menu which included a tuna ceviche in coconut milk, and a new wide rice noodle dish. I'll try to hold my nostalgia for menu items that are departing, like the butternut squash dumplings and dan dan noodles, and hope that the next time I go back we'll reunite like old friends.
