We went to see the first Summer blockbuster: Iron Man 2 tonight. For the record, I loved the first one. I thought the premise was fantastic, Robert Downey Junior's (RDJ) acting was great and he looked hot, the whole thing worked. This movie was-eh. If you like going to see a shoot-'em-up video game then you are going to love this. If that's not your cup of tea, skip it.
It wasn't a total waste of a movie, Mickey Rourke, in all of his stretched weirdness, was a fantastic villain. I'm fairly certain that the line of the season will be either, "I vant my birt" or "thetz not my birt".
My question to the movie-watching universe is, what happened to Gary Shandling? Was it a face lift gone bad or was he pulling a Bobby DeNiro and going all Raging Bull on us? He just looked weird.
Scarlett Johnasen was hot in her black, stretchy,slicked-out suit. Her kung-fu, ju-jitsu, martial arts were kick ass, but horribly corny. She was the embodiment of Halle Berry's Cat-Woman-hot and terrible.
It sounds like I'm dumping all over this flick. It wasn't bad, but it sure wasn't Iron Man (number 1).
