It's not like I wanted yesterday to be that different, but getting food poisoning at work will definitely do that. Who wouldda thunk it that a simple veggie sandwich and bean salad could wreak such havoc, but I found out at the end of the business day, almost exactly four hours after consuming lunch. I was getting ready to wrap up for the day and I ran into my colleague who had been in the same meeting and ate the same thing. She was afflicted early, so I had an indicator that with my sensitive stomach I was in for a rough ride. And... I was.
firsts:
- threw up in public at the bus station (I made it to a trash can)
- threw up in public on the street (I tried to make it to a trash can)
- threw up water (who knew?)
Luckily my faculties were still in tact so rather than trying to keep hydrated by gulping down fizzy water (that didn't work) and an electrolyte drink (that didn't work either) I sucked on an ice cube. I figured that if that's what they do in hospitals, it was good enough for me. So finally at 3 a.m. I was able to doze off and today I'm on the "BRAT" diet (banana, rice, applesauce, and tea). So far so good, but that really put a damper on my plans for the week.
More to follow...
