Lois the Pie Queen

I had a hankering for a big breakfast and thankfully John awoke early which opened up a world of opportunities. I suggested Lois the Pie Queen on the Oakland/Emeryville border. It's a tiny, hole in the wall which gets packed with the after church crowd on Sunday.

The food is big, and good. You get a bottomless cup of coffee which is good for diner coffee. John had been craving chicken and waffles and I ordered eggs (over) with grits and a flapjack. The service was friendly and great and the food matched the service (if food can be friendly). The only problem I experienced was my eyes, which were apparently quite a bit bigger than my stomach.

We waddled out before the crowd began pouring in with $15 dollars less (each) in our wallets.

  • Life Changing: 1 (nope)
  • Fun: 4 (fun)
  • Easy to implement: 1 (easy)
  • Worthy of repetition: 5 (you betcha)
  • Try This: 5 (try this)
  • Cost: 2 (it's brunch)
