"Like sands through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives"--as my closet turns.
Tomorrow is the Spring Equinox. The equinox occurs twice a year. It is when night and day are divided equally. So what better time to convert my closet from the dreary browns and grays of fall to the light blues and greens of Spring.
I pulled out the old stuff and placed it snugly in large plastic bins (think Tupperware for clothes). It's like getting an entire new wardrobe. I didn't get crazy though, this is the Bay Area. There are still sweaters that rest comfortably on my shelves, and wool pants hanging tight awaiting April, for as T.S. Elliot said in The Waste Land, "April is the cruelest month" and wasn't he right!
March is lovely, like a tease and then April rolls around and the weather turns blustery and rainy, and a little chilly and you go back to thinking that you'll never see Spring, or Summer for that matter. So I leave a smattering of Fall/Winter out for that cruelest month (and June and July, which can also be chilly) and I got my optimism out because maybe, just maybe we'll have a warm summer in the Bay Area this year. Welcome Spring!
